We are now in the final few days leading up to the Public Inquiry. We have completed our preparations and have agreed who will deal with each part of the Inquiry.
As you know the Inquiry will open at 10.00 am on Tuesday 3 November. It is currently scheduled for six days 3-6 and 10-11 November with two reserve days on 12 and 13 November and will commence at 9.30 on all those days. It is being held in the Council Chamber at Epsom & Ewell Borough Council. If you wish to observe from the public galley you need to confirm your attendance ahead of the first time you attend to Planning Support at planningsupport@epsom-ewell.gov.uk and include your name, email address and reason for attending (ie interested party). The inquiry is not being livestreamed.
All the relevant documentation can be found on the Epsom & Ewell Borough Council website .
Our witnesses will be:
John Mumford, Chair of the Action Group and Woodcote(Epsom) Residents’ Society – planning, ecology and the Green Belt, opening and closing statements
Andy Ward – Our highway consultant – transport and accessibility
Pat Phelan – horses and the racing and training industry
Suzie Morris will be acting as our Advocate – introducing everyone and routing questioning.
Steven McCormick will speak as a local councillor and Suzie will be representing the views of residents.
Carl Thomas will be working behind the scenes with our witnesses and advocate to make sure we are up-to-speed for each day and have taken on board the lessons from the previous day.
We hope as many of you will come along to support us at least once during the week. It is really important that the Inspector sees that the outcome is really important to Langley Vale residents. At the moment the key days according to the latest programme appear to be Tuesday 3 Nov ( LVAG opening statement and interested party speakers), Wednesday afternoon 4 Nov ( Pat Phelan’s evidence), Friday morning 6 Nov (Andy Ward’s and John Mumford’s evidence).
